01Summary

This project aimed to supply technical components for an industrial technology entity. This case study focuses on providing physical security hardware, specifically IP video surveillance components and the data network supporting them. DIMAS provided a suite of network surveillance components including IP cameras and network video recorders, supported by surveillance-grade storage drives with a raw capacity of 18TB. To secure the connectivity infrastructure, managed PoE-capable network switches were supplied.

02Requirements

The project list included IP cameras, video recorders, surveillance drives, PoE switches, and supporting cabling components. The primary scope was limited to these interconnected security and networking hardware units.

03Technical fit

The PoE switches provide the capability to power and connect IP cameras, while the recorders and drives provide a hardware platform for recording and storage when configured within a system design. The raw capacity of the supplied drives is 18TB, whereas the actual retention time depends on recording resolution, frame rate, compression, and the actual recording policy.

04Documented scope

  • IP video surveillance cameras and NVR supply
  • Surveillance-grade storage media provision

05Key components

01 Surveillance Camera — 42 cameras — IP surveillance camera.
02 Network Video Recorder — 2 recorders — Enterprise network video recorder.
03 Surveillance Storage Drive — 3 drives — Hard drive dedicated for surveillance workloads.
06·Delivery record

The project file records an actual duration of 37 days against a contractual 25 days. The supply scope included surveillance cameras, recorders, storage drives, network switches, and quantities of shielded network cables, dedicated to the security environment.

07 · Why DIMAS

DIMAS provided a package of security surveillance components, PoE-capable network switches, and passive cabling infrastructure, to secure the diverse technical supply requirements for industrial entities within a unified project package.
